COLD CAST BRONZE SCULPTURES AND MODELS
Colin has always had an interest in sculpture and model-making and started taking commissions in the last few years. A recent model-making project involved constructing a giant eight foot model of a wood wasp!
When a customer asked to have a lifesize deer head in bronze made it was found that the cost from the foundry was just too much. After some research into different materials Colin came up with the solution - to do the whole process himself using the cold-cast bronze method. This involves using pure bronze powder and a resin mixture and gives results which are difficult to tell apart at a fraction of the cost.
Colin has now expanded on this idea and has started a small range of lifesize cold-cast heads for sale. His lifesize roe head can be purchased ready to hang inside or outside and can be given a weathered patina to give an aged look.
An added bonus to this system is that a customer can have their own antlers moulded and cast (without damaging them) to go onto the roe sculpture which makes a unique way to display your special trophy.
